Cycling Perth to Melbourne

About me, the ride I did, why I did it and what next?

I never intended to create this Website or YouTube channel with the same name: 'Turn the Pedal' but so many folks said I must share my experience, so I have through this website, 20+ short YouTube films, and the cycle app I used: KOMOOT, all links are below. Enjoy.

I'm not a professional cyclist. 

Like most, I enjoy getting on my bike, turning the pedal and cycling short or longer distances. 

My previous long long trip was always planned as a personal adventure, which I now share via the website and films in the hope you find the content helpful for your own personal adventure. 

Following the COVID pandemic, I cycled to my children in Melbourne from Perth, just under 4000 Kms, approximately 2500 miles. 

30th Oct 2022 I flew with my bike boxed from Stockholm to London; 1st Nov, I flew London, direct to Perth, Western Australia, I arrived 2nd Nov, and 4th Nov, I began to cycle solo. 

13th Dec, and after many thousands turns of the pedals I arrived in Melbourne, Victoria, at the time, I was 62. 

I cycled for 33 days, had 6 rest days, and gained a huge amount of amazing memories, and not one problem with the bike; my 3826 kms were behind me, my adventure was over. Until the next time.
